This is where the lab notes need a small footnote.
The red mercury described in real-world rumors is widely treated by scientists and arms-control experts as a hoax or myth. There is no verified wonder substance matching the extraordinary claims often attached to it.
Some materials sold under the name may contain ordinary mercury compounds or other hazardous substances. “Not a secret super-material” does not mean “safe to touch.” Mercury and mercury compounds can be toxic and harmful to people and the environment.
So, if someone offers you a mysterious red powder in exchange for a suspicious amount of money:
- Do not buy it.
- Do not open it.
- Do not store it in Drawer 4B.
- Contact the appropriate local authorities or hazardous-material professionals.

The team’s challenge is not simply destroying the material. A careless detonation could damage the rainforest, destabilize the Spirit Tree, or spread the energy into places we may not be able to reach.
That means everyone has a role:
