🔬 Dr. Mubari’s Private Log: The Truth About Red Mercury (Classified)

Note from the System Administrator: It appears Dr. Mubari left her terminal unlocked again while she went to find Alpha (who apparently made off with her favorite stethoscope). While we wait for her to return, we’ve managed to "liberate" some of her private research logs regarding the most dangerous substance on Earth: Red Mercury. Don't tell Bossman.

ENTRY #014: THE CRYSTAL THAT SHOULDN'T EXIST

Timestamp: January 12, 2026 – 09:42 AM
Location: Amazon Field Base "Canopy One"

I finally got my hands on a stable sample. After months of tracking the deforestation signatures left by Bossman’s heavy machinery, Tom (Primal) managed to intercept a shipment of what we thought was just illegal timber. Instead, we found these.

Red Mercury isn’t a liquid, despite what those old 1980s conspiracy theories suggest. It’s a jagged, crystalline lattice that hums. Actually hums! If you put your ear close enough, it sounds like a swarm of bees singing in a minor key. My preliminary scans show a power density that defies every law of thermodynamics I taught at the university.

It’s beautiful, in a "this-could-level-a-city-block" kind of way. Sunbyte thinks it's the key to the ancient technology we keep finding buried under the silt. I’m just worried about what happens when it gets warm. Note to self: do not leave the sample near the coffee heater again.

ENTRY #029: THE GERMAN CONNECTION

Timestamp: February 15, 2026 – 11:15 PM
Location: Classified Research Lab

Classified diagram of Red Mercury integration into historical German tech

I’ve been diving into the digitized archives Sunbyte recovered from that flooded bunker. It turns out we aren't the first ones to try and harness this stuff. During the 1940s, German scientists were obsessed with "Crimson Energy." They were lightyears ahead of their time, developing tech that could interface directly with the Spirit Tree's frequency.

They called it the "Black Rain" project. It wasn't just a weapon; it was a mutation catalyst. They realized that Red Mercury doesn't just provide power, it rewrites biological code. Leonard West has been looking for these specific German blueprints for years. If he figures out how they stabilized the crystals for long-range transport, the Amazon won't just be facing loggers and corporate greed; it’ll be facing a biological apocalypse.

Oops Moment: I accidentally spilled a bit of my decaf onto the original blueprint scan. The good news is that the acidity of the coffee actually revealed some hidden lemon-juice ink notes in the margins! The bad news is that the scanner is now smoking and smells like burnt hazelnut.

ENTRY #042: THE ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION & THE "FORMULA"

Timestamp: March 22, 2026 – 03:00 AM
Location: SS Rainsaver – En route to the Southern Ocean

We’re freezing. Tom is handled the cold well (superhuman strength apparently comes with a very efficient internal furnace), but Alpha is currently wearing three of my parkas and refuses to leave the galley.

We’ve confirmed that West has headed to a buried German research station beneath the ice. He’s looking for the "Red Formula." According to my calculations, the Red Mercury crystals alone are just batteries. But the formula? That’s the operating system. It links the crystals to the Spirit Tree itself.

If West finds it, he won't just be powering machines. He’ll be able to tap into the "heartbeat" of the rainforest from thousands of miles away. It’s a terrifying thought. Why can't villains ever just be obsessed with something harmless, like stamp collecting or sourdough starters?

ENTRY #055: THE HAM SANDWICH INCIDENT

Timestamp: April 05, 2026 – 12:20 PM
Location: Lab Bio-Containment Unit

A ham sandwich mutated into a tiny plant monster by Red Mercury vapor

I should have been more careful. While calibrating the containment field for the Antarctic samples, a tiny puff of Red Mercury vapor escaped. It wasn't much, hardly enough to register on the atmospheric sensors.

However, my lunch was sitting on the bench next to the vent.

My ham sandwich is now… well, it’s alive. It has sprouted tiny green tendrils and is currently attempting to "reclaim" the mayo jar. It doesn't have teeth, but it’s surprisingly aggressive with its lettuce. This confirms my theory: Red Mercury reacts to organic matter by accelerating evolution at a chaotic, unpredictable rate.

If this is what it does to a sandwich, imagine what West could do to a human. Or the entire Amazonian ecosystem. I’ve had to lock the sandwich in a petri dish. Alpha keeps trying to poke it with a pencil. I really need a vacation.

ENTRY #078: SHADOW OF THE MOON

Timestamp: May 19, 2026 – 10:45 PM
Location: Observation Deck

West has gone off-world. I still can’t believe I’m writing that. Sunbyte tracked a high-energy signature to an abandoned German lunar base. They used Red Mercury-powered rockets to get there.

It makes sense. In the vacuum of space, the energy output of the crystals is 40% more efficient. But he isn't just hiding; he’s using the low gravity to synthesize a pure form of the crystal: something he calls "Mortalis Grade."

The data Tom sent back from the initial skirmish is chilling. West isn't just using the tech anymore. He’s integrating it into his own DNA. He’s trying to become the very thing he’s been researching. He’s transitioning from a man of greed into a monster of pure, unadulterated power.

ENTRY #091: THE GIZA REACTOR & THE BIRTH OF MORTALIS

Timestamp: June 14, 2026 – 02:15 AM
Location: Hidden Chamber, Beneath the Giza Plateau

The Red Mercury fusion reactor pulsing with light under the Giza Pyramids

We found it. The ultimate intersection of ancient technology and modern threats. Beneath the pyramids, West: now calling himself Mortalis: activated a Red Mercury fusion reactor.

It was horrifyingly beautiful. The entire chamber glowed with a deep, pulsing crimson. The reactor was draining the Nile, pulling the very life-force of the region to stabilize the crystal's output. I watched through the drone feed as Mortalis stood in the center of the beam.

He didn't burn. He changed.

Using Tom’s stolen DNA as a template, the Red Mercury rebuilt him. He is no longer Leonard West. He is a walking, breathing extinction event. He’s faster than Jungle Dart, stronger than Tom, and possesses a mind that makes Alpha look like a toddler.

ENTRY #102: THE FATE OF THE SPIRIT TREE

Timestamp: July 23, 2026 – 08:00 AM (Today)
Location: The Heart of the Amazon

This is the final log. Mortalis has reached the Spirit Tree.

The Red Mercury tech he’s carrying is like a virus. It’s leaching into the roots, turning the emerald leaves a sickly, glowing red. The entire forest is screaming: I can feel it in the air pressure, the way the birds have gone silent.

Tom is facing a choice I wouldn't wish on anyone. To stop Mortalis, he might have to destroy the very thing we’ve spent our lives protecting. If the Spirit Tree falls, the Amazon dies. But if Mortalis keeps control, the entire Earth becomes his playground.

I’m going to go help Alpha. He found the "Oops" sandwich and is currently trying to teach it to play checkers. At least someone in this lab still has a sense of humor.

Mubari out.
