Since we’re all about transparency (and because I love geeking out over the tech in our stories), I wanted to sit down and give you the ultimate breakdown. But in the world of The Rainsavers, we asked a different question: What if the hoax was a cover-up?

In Book Three, Red Mercury isn’t a myth. It’s a ballotechnic compound that doesn't just store energy, it generates it by interacting with the Earth’s own magnetic field. It’s clean, it’s infinite, and it’s small enough to fit in a tactical backpack.

In our series, we focus a lot on the environment. We’ve talked before about why eco-fiction will change the way you think about adventure stories, and Red Mercury is the ultimate extension of that.

The Conflict in Book Three

The discovery of a stable Red Mercury isotope in a hidden facility becomes the "starting pistol" for a global shadow war. We aren't talking about capes and tights here; we’re talking about high-stakes tactical operations.

• The Governments: They want it to power their cities (and their railguns).
• The Corporations: They want to patent it and sell it back to us at a premium.

One of the things I’m most proud of in this installment is the focus on grounded, tech-heavy action. Since Red Mercury is a high-energy compound, the characters have to use specialized tactical gear just to handle it.

We’re talking about:

1. Lead-lined exosuits: To protect against the unique radiation signatures.
2. Cryo-stabilization canisters: If the mercury gets too hot, it’s game over for everyone in a five-mile radius.
3. Signal dampeners: Because every intelligence agency in the world is scanning for the specific frequency this stuff emits.
